Obama Signs New Conservation Bill

After spending a year working to get through Congress Obama signed a new conservation bill into law on Monday that protects 2 million acres of parks, rivers, streams, desert, forest and trails in California, Idaho, Utah, Colorado, Oregon, Virginia, West Virginia, New Mexico and Michigan. The bill passed the house with a vote of 285-140 with most of the opponents being Republicans who were upset that law did not allow access for oil and gas drilling on the land.
