Recipe: Green Antiseptic Cleaner

As we all start to worry about the long-term effects of the commercially purchased antiseptic cleaners we are looking for more natural ways to get the same results.

Mix the following ingredients together, shake till everything is dissolved. Store in a spray bottle or a glass jar with a lid. You can purchase essential oils at a natural food store like Whole Foods or Trader Joes and of course online. The longer you wait after you spray the cleanser to wiping it up you will get more antiseptic benefit. As with any cleaner test it in a small spot on what you are cleaning to make sure that it does not ruin the finish.

2 teaspoon borax

1 teaspoon of baking soda

1/2 teaspoon liquid soap or detergent

2 cups of hot water

1 teaspoon antiseptic essential oil (rosemary, sweet orange, lavender, tea tree, thyme, lemongrass)
